Afgestudeerd aan de Academie voor Beeldende Vorming, Tilburg, woont en werkt in Nederland en Frankrijk.
Van Toledo schildert figuratief-abstracten die sterk expressief op het doek worden gezet in een persoonlijke en krachtige stijl.
De kleurrijke werken komen tot stand d.m.v. een zoektocht in verf die moet resulteren in een synthese tussen abstractie en figuratie, een nieuwe werkelijkheid op het doek.
Balancerend op de grens wordt een evenwicht gevonden.
De voornamelijk acrylschilderijen worden opgebouwd uit meerdere lagen, die nu eens sterk aangezet dan weer gedeeltelijk weggepoetst worden tot een doorwerkte huid is overgebleven.
Kenmerkend is het combineren van schilderkunstige en tekenachtige aspecten.

I sometimes find the basis in my work through direct observation, but I usually find it in my own experiences. I feel a need to tell, to give a reflection on the world around me. This takes shape through a search in paint that should result in a synthesis of abstraction and figuration.
This way I can also combine the intellectual and intuitive aspects of painting. The mainly acrylic paintings are set in several layers, which are laid on thick and partly rubbed off again until a well-wrought skin remains. Characteristic is the combination of painting and drawing aspects.

Je trouve les bases de mon travail dans l’observation directe, mais aussi dans ma propre expérience. J’ai besoin de dire, de transmettre mes réflexions sur le monde qui m’entoure. Cette recherche devrait déboucher sur une synthèse entre la peinture abstraite et la peinture figurative.
De cette manière, je peux aussi associer les aspects intellectuals et instinctifs da la peinture. Mes peintures, principalement à acrylique sont constituées de plusieurs couches épaisses et partiellement gommées pour donner un aspect patiné. Le mélange de peinture et de dessin est caracteristique de mon travail.
